It seemed Like this is what they were waiting for Everyone was doing nothing but criticizing her "Who does that? " They would ask each other as they laughed hard than women in the market They called her names For leaving her home and running away She had committed a taboo, an abomination that was not tolerable in the society The law of the land said that  all ladies were to be circumcised And this she had to do when she would return back to the land The parents ,poor and incompetent as they were did nothing but listen to their sayings They wished within themselves that if only they had the means to protect their daughter they would have done it. Ex c use me parents, This is the time to protect your children from other people It really doesn't matter if you have the mulla to do so Just do what you have to, to keep them away from those who do nothing but speak Ill of you
